Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 lands January 19
Netflix has set Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 for a worldwide premiere on January 19, 2027, and released a new teaser alongside the date.
The ending is already greenlit
Netflix has confirmed a third and final season. ComicBook.com reports it has been teased for 2028, with no release date set. Anyone who held off because animated prestige shows have a habit of getting cut mid-story can stop worrying. This one is planned as three seasons, and the last one is already ordered.
That makes the viewing calendar simple. Season 2 arrives in January, and the finale follows about a year later if the 2028 tease holds. A tease can slip, so pencil that second date in lightly.
The teaser sends Mizu to London
The new footage points the story toward London as Mizu chases the next stage of her revenge. Maya Erskine returns as Mizu, with Brenda Song (Akemi), Darren Barnet (Taigen), Masi Oka (Ringo) and Kenneth Branagh (Abijah Fowler) back as well. Joining the cast are Jonathan Pryce as Old Violet, Joel Kim Booster as Priest Ando and Sherry Cola as Kuma. Creators Amber Noizumi and Michael Green write and executive produce again, and Blue Spirit is back on animation.
Netflix has not confirmed an episode count, so the length of this chapter is still unknown.
There is time to catch up before January
If you have not started Season 1, you have about eleven weeks to get through it before the premiere, and it costs nothing beyond the subscription you would need for Season 2 anyway. For collectors, nothing in this announcement touches physical releases or merchandise, so there is nothing to chase yet. Wait until something real is announced. If you keep a list of what you own and what you are waiting on, our ledger has a slot for it.
