Beginning After the End webtoon on hiatus

By the PopJunk Serials desk. Published

The Beginning After the End webtoon is on indefinite hiatus. Creator Turtle Me announced on X that the series stops after Chapter 259, starting October 29, 2026, after Tapas announced in October that it was shutting down, according to ComicBook.com.

Bought chapters can disappear with the platform

If you read this one on Tapas, your library lives on a site that is closing. The report says Tapas made no promise that readers keep access to series they already bought. Ink purchases ended in October, and existing inks can be used until March 31, 2027.

Manta says Tapas purchases carry over to its platform only for titles in its library. This series was exclusive to Tapas, so that arrangement does not cover it. The article names no new home for the webtoon and says there is no telling how long finding one will take.

For anyone holding unspent inks, March 31, 2027 is the date that matters. Turtle Me thanked fans for spending their remaining inks on the series and urged them to do the same for their other favorite creators.

The story exists past the webtoon

The web novel started on Tapas in 2017, and the webtoon adaptation followed a year later. The novel finished in November 2025, and the report says a large chunk of it is still unadapted. So the ending is written. The comic just stopped partway through, because the store it was sold in is closing. The article does not say where the novel can be read now, so check before you assume it is easy to find.

Asked what happens next, the creator was blunt: "I don't have any answers yet about what comes next," per ComicBook.com.

Anime watchers get no new signal

Season 1 aired in April 2025, and Season 2 ran from April to June 2026. The report says no Season 3 has been officially confirmed. A stalled comic adds nothing to that wait. The show already ran on the novel, so the comic stalling doesn't decide its future.

The next real news is a new home for the webtoon, and that is the announcement to watch for. Until then, the chapters you own are only as safe as Tapas's last day. If you would rather have a long run sitting on a shelf, the guides cover what to track and what to buy in print.
